The Eleanor U. Kennedy Shelter, a service provided by New Hope Housing, offers support to homeless individuals in Fairfax County, Virginia. The shelter, located near Fort Belvoir at the former site of Beacon Hill Elementary School, provides safety, shelter, and support to 50 individuals. In addition to providing shelter, their services include case management, counseling, employment and housing search assistance, goal planning, and life skills education. The shelter operates 24 hours per day, with the aim of helping residents transition from homelessness to a stable, independent living situation.
