The Housing Authority of Osage County owns 282 public housing units in 6 towns of Osage County. This property consists of duplexes, quads and single units, located in Barnsdall, Fairfax, Hominy, Osage, Pawhuska and Shidler. Units vary in size from 1-bedroom, 1 bath to 4 -bedroom, 1 1/2 bath. However, every size house is not available in every town. HAOC does not offer assisted living, even though some units are fully accessible for wheelchair. Housing Authority of Osage County is subsidized by HUD, from whom all standards, regulations and method of operation are taken. HAOC does not provide emergency housing but offers equal opportunity housing, not discriminating against any person because of race, color, religion, sex, national origin or family status. Each unit is brick with vinyl siding and equipped with gas range, refrigerator, washer/dryer hook-up, central heat/air, metal entry doors with deadbolt locks and attic fans. Floors are tile but carpet may be installed with stipulations. Normal “wear and tear” maintenance is provided free of charge.
