There Are Currently 51 Units Available Under Management by the Rockwood Housing Commission. These Low-income Housing Units Consist of Section 8, Public Housing, and Low-income Housing Tax Credit Properties. the Rockwood Housing Commission Serves the Rockwood, Metropolitan Area.
The Rockwood Housing Commission (RHC) was established in 1968 in accordance with Michigan law, by a vote of the Rockwood City Council. The RHC is governed by a five member Board of Commissioners, appointed by the Mayor, to staggered five year terms. The day to day operations are managed by the Executive Director and staff. In 1969 the RHC and the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) entered into an ACC contract to build a high rise structure to provide housing for low income Senior citizens. The apartments are known as the Irving Brewer Senior Apartments.
