There Are Currently 335 Units Available Under Management by the Eastpointe Housing Commission. These Low-income Housing Units Consist of Section 8, Public Housing, and Low-income Housing Tax Credit Properties. the Eastpointe Housing Commission Serves the Eastpointe, Metropolitan Area.
Eastpointe Housing Commission (EHC) opened our first building, Erin Manor, a 64 unit apartment building to low income, very low income, and extremely low-income citizens on May 25, 1969. In 1984, we opened a second building, a 100 unit apartment complex, Chester Berry Manor. The rent charged in these two (2) buildings is based on the resident's income. The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) sets guidelines and provides additional funds to help support the improvement and maintenance of the buildings. EHC also administers a 171 Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers. This program provides income based rent assistance to families in private sector housing throughout Macomb County.
