There Are Currently 195 Units Available Under Management by the Alpena Housing Commission. These Low-income Housing Units Consist of Section 8, Public Housing, and Low-income Housing Tax Credit Properties. the Alpena Housing Commission Serves the Alpena, Metropolitan Area.
Grace Stosik, Executive Director, opening the James E. Copping Apartments in June 1953 with 48 units providing affordable housing to the local community. Five years later in March 1958, the Herbert Kurrasch Apartments opened with 24 units. In July 1970, the Riverview Apartments opened with 72 units followed by the Albert C. Fowler Apartments being constructed with 51 units in July 1980. This completed the construction of Public Housing for the Alpena Housing Commission.
