There Are Currently 195 Units Available Under Management by the Alpena Housing Commission. These Low-income Housing Units Consist of Section 8, Public Housing, and Low-income Housing Tax Credit Properties. the Alpena Housing Commission Serves the Alpena, Metropolitan Area.

In June 1953, Grace Stosik, the Executive Director, inaugurated the James E. Copping Apartments, which consisted of 48 units designed to offer affordable housing options to the local community. Following this success, the Herbert Kurrasch Apartments were established in March 1958, providing an additional 24 units. In July 1970, the Riverview Apartments were opened, featuring 72 units to accommodate more residents. The final addition to the Alpena Housing Commission's Public Housing was the Albert C. Fowler Apartments, which were built in July 1980 and consisted of 51 units. With the completion of these projects, the construction of Public Housing by the Alpena Housing Commission was successfully concluded.
