There Are Currently 197 Units Available Under Management by the Dartmouth Housing Authority. These Low-income Housing Units Consist of Section 8, Public Housing, and Low-income Housing Tax Credit Properties. the Dartmouth Housing Authority Serves the Dartmouth, Metropolitan Area.
Incorporated into existence in 1963, our first site was built in South Dartmouth, Sol-E-Mar, and occupied in 1967. Forty-four units of state elderly housing marked the beginning of what has expanded to include a second site being built in North Dartmouth in 1980. Munroe Terrace has eighty single bedroom apartments, eight of which are handicapped accessible. Through the years, the Dartmouth Housing Authority acquired a Section 8 program which enables us to help 197 families and individuals find safe and affordable housing by means of Housing Choice and Preservation Vouchers. In October of 2016, the Housing Authority, in partnership with its non-profit, Partners in Housing, LLC., completed an 8 year long project of rehabbing and adding to the former State Police barracks at 262 State Rd. We have created 9 efficiency units of low-income housing for Veterans.
