There Are Currently 6 Units Available Under Management by the Swansea Housing Authority. These Low-income Housing Units Consist of Section 8, Public Housing, and Low-income Housing Tax Credit Properties. the Swansea Housing Authority Serves the Swansea, Metropolitan Area.
Incorporated into existence in the late 1960’s, our elderly, non-elderly disabled housing was built on Gardners Neck Road. Martin Court houses 64 units, four of which are handicapped accessible. Through the years, the Swansea Housing Authority acquired a 689 State aided house for disabled people. Currently, the program who maintains the house is Fellowship, Inc. whose clients are elderly disabled. There are eight residents. Our Federal Public Housing program consists of six (6) scattered sites throughout the Town. They are two and three bedroom ranch style houses that are occupied by low-income families and are subsidized by Housing and Urban Development.
