						There Are Currently 60 Units Available Under Management by the Housing Authority of the Town of New Roads. These Low-income Housing Units Consist of Section 8, Public Housing, and Low-income Housing Tax Credit Properties. the Housing Authority of the Town of New Roads Serves the New Roads, Metropolitan Area.
Established in 1972, the Housing Authority New Roads (HANR) was established pursuant to the United States Housing Act of 1937, as amended, to provide decent, safe, sanitary and affordable housing to low income families. In accordance with this objective, the development of standard policies and procedures are necessary in order in ensure equitable treatment for all applicants and residents, as well as, to ensure the efficient operation of public housing units managed by the PHA. In recognition, thereof the PHA has developed policies on Admission and Continued Occupancy and Administrative Policies which implements federal and state regulations. Said policies are also based on recognition that the provision of decent, safe sanitary and affordable housing is dependent upon social and economic factors as well as physical factors.
