There Are Currently 355 Units Available Under Management by the Charles City Housing and Redev Authority. These Low-income Housing Units Consist of Section 8, Public Housing, and Low-income Housing Tax Credit Properties. the Charles City Housing and Redev Authority Serves the Charles City, Metropolitan Area.
The Charles City Housing and Redevelopment Authority’s (CCHRA) goal is to improve the quality of life for clients by providing affordable housing and building community partnerships with other agencies to provide needed services. The Housing Authority is a department of the City of Charles City designed to administer housing assistance programs throughout the city. On an average, 180 families are assisted on a monthly basis with the cooperation of approximately 90 landlords on the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program. The Housing Authority is the landlord to 148 households participating on the Public Housing Program. Participation in all programs requires the family to meet federally determined income guidelines.
