There Are Currently 355 Units Available Under Management by the Charles City Housing and Redev Authority. These Low-income Housing Units Consist of Section 8, Public Housing, and Low-income Housing Tax Credit Properties. the Charles City Housing and Redev Authority Serves the Charles City, Metropolitan Area.

The main aim of the Charles City Housing and Redevelopment Authority (CCHRA) is to enhance the well-being of its clients by offering affordable housing options and establishing collaborative relationships with other agencies to provide necessary services. As a department of the City of Charles City, the Housing Authority manages housing assistance programs across the city. Each month, an average of 180 families receive assistance through the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program, with the cooperation of around 90 landlords. Additionally, the Housing Authority serves as the landlord for 148 households participating in the Public Housing Program. Eligibility for all programs is contingent upon meeting income guidelines set by the federal government.
