When the Authority was first established in 1950, as a result of the State Housing Authorities' Law, the emphasis was on "bricks and mortar," building housing for low income households. Over the years, we've had to expand our efforts and focus on a more comprehensive solution to the housing needs of our changing community. Additionally, we added the renewal of the community through redevelopment and the facilitation of projects and programs that benefit Calhoun, its communities and citizens.
