There Are Currently 982 Units Available Under Management by the Deland Housing Authority. These Low-income Housing Units Consist of Section 8, Public Housing, and Low-income Housing Tax Credit Properties. the Deland Housing Authority Serves the Deland, Metropolitan Area.
The DeLand Housing Authority (DHA) was established in 1968 by the City of DeLand, and in 1972 DHA was completed with 200 public housing units called Oakland Terrace. In 2007 the units were demolished per HUD approval due to their poor and unsafe conditions. Between 2011 and 2015 Laurel Villas (120 units) and Laurel Court (80 units designated for the elderly 62 and older) were built thus replacing the 200 units that were demolished.
