There Are Currently 10325 Units Available Under Management by the Jacksonville Housing Authority. These Low-income Housing Units Consist of Section 8, Public Housing, and Low-income Housing Tax Credit Properties. the Jacksonville Housing Authority Serves the Jacksonville, Metropolitan Area.
The Mayor created the Jacksonville Housing in September of 1994 to fill the need for a more effective and community service oriented public housing agency. Prior to the establishment of the Jacksonville Housing, Public Housing and Section 8 were operated by the City of Jacksonville, Department of Housing and Urban Development (City HUD).
