The stratford housing authority (sha, the authority) is a quasi-public corporation that was established in 1943. The authority is independent from the town of stratford and is regulated by the federal u.S. Department of housing and urban development (hud) and the connecticut state department of housing (doh). Administrative support for our state properties is provided by the connecticut housing finance authority (chfa). A board of five commissioners, appointed by the town council, is responsible for oversight and establishing policy.
