These Low-income Housing Units Consist of Section 8, Public Housing, and Low-income Housing Tax Credit Properties. the Housing Authority of the County of Jackson Serves the Ripley, Metropolitan Area.

The Housing Authority of the County of Jackson provides rental assistance programs for low to moderately low income families in Jackson, Roane, Gilmer, and Calhoun Counties. They have two public housing complexes: Rolling Meadow Village in Fairplain, WV and Tanglewood Villa in Ripley, WV. Rolling Meadow Village, built in 1982, is a family complex with various townhouse options. It has amenities such as playgrounds and basketball hoops, and is conveniently located near job opportunities. Tanglewood Villa, built in 1985, is specifically designed for elderly and disabled individuals, with laundry facilities on-site. Additionally, the Housing Authority administers the Housing Choice Voucher Program, formerly known as the Section 8 Program, which allows families to rent from private market landlords in the four counties mentioned above.
