There Are Currently 4334 Units Available Under Management by the Bucks County Housing Authority. These Low-income Housing Units Consist of Section 8, Public Housing, and Low-income Housing Tax Credit Properties. the Bucks County Housing Authority Serves the Doylestown, Metropolitan Area.

The creation of the Bucks County Housing Authority dates back to World War II when the Bucks County Board of Commissioners established it under state law. Its main purpose was to construct emergency housing for defense workers at Brewster Aircraft and Kaiser Shipyards. In the 1960s, the authority went through a reorganization and shifted its focus to providing housing options for Bucks County residents who were struggling to find affordable housing in the market. Since then, the Bucks County Housing Authority has successfully developed eleven housing projects in various townships including Bristol, Bensalem, Tullytown, Doylestown, Perkasie, Sellersville, Quakertown, and Telford. Additionally, the authority plays a crucial role as the administrator of the Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCV), commonly known as Section 8. Through this program, over 2,500 individuals and families in Bucks County are provided with housing opportunities in privately owned properties.
