There Are Currently 191 Units Available Under Management by the Housing Authority of the Town of Enfield. These Low-income Housing Units Consist of Section 8, Public Housing, and Low-income Housing Tax Credit Properties. the Housing Authority of the Town of Enfield Serves the Enfield, Metropolitan Area.
The Enfield Housing Authority (EHA) is among the original public housing authorities in the state having been organized in 1948. Early development was focused on building 174 moderate rental units. During the 1960's, 70's and early 80's, 240 apartments for the elderly were constructed. The EHA also pioneered the congregate housing model for the "frail elderly" by establishing 42 units in the early 1980's and later added 40 additional units in 1992. The EHA also administers 180 federal Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers and has an agreement with HUD to perform contract administration responsibilities over a 75 unit privately owned and managed project based Section 8 program.
