There Are Currently 24 Units Available Under Management by the Bear Creek Housing Authority. These Low-income Housing Units Consist of Section 8, Public Housing, and Low-income Housing Tax Credit Properties. the Bear Creek Housing Authority Serves the Bear Creek, Metropolitan Area.

The Housing Authorities of Guin, Hackleburg, Bear Creek & Winfield were established as non-profit organizations in 1949 and 1950 by the State of Alabama. Their main purpose is to offer suitable and safe housing to the low-income individuals residing in Marion County. These Authorities are designated as Public Housing Agencies (PHA) and have a contractual agreement with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the U.S. Housing Act of 1937. Each municipality appoints a local Board of Commissioners consisting of five members to govern the PHAs. These Commissioners are appointed by the Mayor and serve a term of five years. Annually, during the board's meeting, a chairman and vice-chairman are elected.
