The Village of Nyack Housing Authority (VONHA) was established in 1960 under the authority of the State of New York. It operates independently from the Village of Nyack and is focused on providing affordable housing options for the financially disadvantaged residents of Nyack. VONHA owns and manages two housing facilities, Waldron Terrace and Depew Manor, which were constructed using funds and operating subsidies provided by the state of New York. Additionally, the Village of Nyack has granted VONHA tax-exempt status, land, and guaranteed services. The land was acquired through eminent domain as part of a statewide Urban Renewal program. VONHA also serves as the property manager for Leonarde Cooke Pine Street Homes, a low-income housing complex located adjacent to Waldron Terrace.
