There Are Currently 524 Units Available Under Management by the Poughkeepsie Housing Authority. These Low-income Housing Units Consist of Section 8, Public Housing, and Low-income Housing Tax Credit Properties. the Poughkeepsie Housing Authority Serves the Poughkeepsie, Metropolitan Area.
The Poughkeepsie Housing Authority was established in 1952. The Authority currently manages 5 public housing sites with 359 units, housing approximately 1200 residents. They are as follows: Hudson Gardens Apartments located at 120 Hudson Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601; Thurgood Marshall Terrace located at 109 Delafield Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601; Martin Luther King Jr. Garden Apartments located at 159 Washington Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601; Dr. Joseph Brady Garden Apartments located at 11 Boulevard Knolls, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601; and Phillip Allen Swartz Apartments located at 378 Mansion Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. In addition, through federally funded Section 8 Housing Program, we have vouchers to assist 87 families and 60 VASH vouchers to assist veterans with housing needs.
