There Are Currently 691 Units Available Under Management by the Housing Authority of the City of North Chicago. These Low-income Housing Units Consist of Section 8, Public Housing, and Low-income Housing Tax Credit Properties. the Housing Authority of the City of North Chicago Serves the North Chicago, Metropolitan Area.

Since 1976, the North Chicago Housing Authority has been dedicated to offering secure and reasonably priced housing to moderate- to low-income families, individuals with disabilities, and the elderly in North Chicago, Illinois. We initially assisted 102 individuals, primarily senior citizens and those with disabilities, in finding homes when the Kukla Towers were inaugurated. This marked the beginning of our mission to not only provide housing for families in need but also to bring hope into their lives. In response to the increasing demand for housing in 1986, we expanded our community by introducing an additional 50 one-bedroom homes. As our organization grew, we were able to offer a total of 471 housing choice vouchers in 1988, which were provided to families requiring assistance in achieving self-sufficiency. In 2008, we joined forces with The Veterans Administration and were honored with 35 VASH vouchers. Due to the significant need, an additional 35 vouchers were awarded to our organization in 2009, resulting in a total of 70 VASH vouchers. We have continued to expand and strive to empower individuals to succeed within our community.
