Description


The Virginia Beach Department of Human Services provides a variety of services to its residents who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk. These services include emergency shelter placements, eviction prevention and rehousing assistance, street outreach, and a day program for adults with mental health issues or substance abuse disorders. The department also provides comprehensive evaluation and assessment services, along with case management, to help individuals transition back into self-sufficiency. The goal of the department is to ensure that all residents have the opportunity to reach their potential and participate fully in community life.
