The Wildwood Housing Authority is a federally funded, non-profit quasi-government agency that provides affordable housing to low to moderate income families, seniors, and people with disabilities. WHA is overseen by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. It uses its $4.0 million annual budget to provide safe and decent housing and other assistance for approximately 1,000 Wildwood citizens. The Wildwood Housing Authority is managed by a seven-member board of commissioners. Six are appointed by the Mayor of the city of Wildwood with the concurrence of the other city commissioners. The other is appointed by the Department of Community Affairs. The Wildwood Housing Authority owns 2 housing developments in Wildwood. The developments have 170 units.
